A Different Type of Friendship

It’s a different type of friendship. It is 100% indescribable. It’s a friendship that has gone through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Not just break ups, inside jokes, movie dates. It’s instances like the highs of finding God, and the lows of tragedy. These are the highs and lows of a different type of friendship. It’s the hugs that you never want to let go of. When their heart breaks, yours breaks twice, once for yourself and once for your friend. It’s the type of friendship you thank God everyday for because it wasn’t a happenstance of incident. This friendship was a happenstance of God.

It’s the kind of friendship that started out awkwardly, slow even. It was a forced conversation and shared biographies. Progressively becoming each others diaries, learning every detail of each others lives until you become part of each other. You don’t just share the joys of each other’s lives, you feel them. You don’t just share the sorrows in each other’s lives, you hurt right along with them.

It’s the type of friendship that brings refreshment to your soul and meaning to your life. They remind us that we are never really truly alone. It’s the type of friendship that provides guidance that no one else really can. This friendship is the kind that accepts every single flaw, every single mistake, every single burden, every single quirk, and they love you anyway. This type of friendship can withstand distance. It can withstand tragedy. It can withstand anything.

A soulmate can come through friendship too. This friendship has given me something almost deeper than a soulmate, yet words will never be able to explain it. This is the type of friendship that you aggressively believe in each other. You believe the other deserves the world and all it’s treasures. It is the type of friendship that involves defending each other through good and through bad.

It isn’t optional, or occasional. It is forever at the smack dab center of your heart.

It’s the type of friendship that cannot truly be described. When you find a friendship like this, you have received the greatest gift life can ever offer you.
