Guest Room Tour!

Although the house we bought has been occupied by myself for about 6 months now, I haven’t completed many of the rooms entirely. It is odd that the guest room was the room that I finished right away, maybe because I didn’t want to put as much effort into it. I had a lot of things here and there that I though–eh, that can go in the guest room.

I do love the space and think it is simple and easy for a guest to stay in. I will say it turned out A LITTLE bit more girly than I wanted it to, but at the end of the day it is a guest room and it works just fine!Β

BEDDING: Homegoods // PINK PILLOW SHAMS: Homegoods // FURRY PILLOWS: At Home // NIGHT STANDS: Refinished by my mom πŸ™‚ // LAMPS: Homegoods // THROW BLANKET: Homegoods

I bought seriously SO MUCH of my decor from Homegoods. I never knew what the fuss was all about until I moved to Des Moines and had one right at my fingertips. Needless to say I spent a ton of time in there preparing this house, and this room in particular! At Home is also a great store for certain decor. I find that a lot of their merchandise is really overpriced for the quality, but you can find some gems!

HANGING RACK: Wal Mart I believe // FLUFFY WHITE PILLOW: Elements

I put my chalkboard that I got when I was like 10 in here, because I thought it would be really fun to write on it when guests come stay! I also threw my rolling clothes rack in here for guests to be able to hang their clothing on if need be! This room does have a pretty spacious closet, but sometimes it can be awkward using someone else’s closet.Β

The accessories I used were pretty much just things I had or took from my mom’s house. The moon sign was from my mom when I moved, because when I was little we used to compete about how many trips to the moon we loved each other. (precious, I know). The white lantern was from Sugar Bowl awhile back!

I also HIGHLY recommend putting a hamper in your guest room, so your guests can put their dirty towels or sheets or whatever they may have used in the hamper. Sometimes it can be awkward asking what to do with your dirty towels or sheets!

I hope you enjoyed this different post! I love sharing my decor, even though this room is not anything special, it is simple and girly and fun. I am planning to do this for every room in my house as I complete them πŸ™‚ Thanks so so so much for reading and I hope you have a happy Tuesday! P.S. I could not really link anything because Homegoods is kind of like TJ Maxx, meaning they all carry different things at different times! So I need to apologize for that πŸ™‚

  1. Lovely and distinctly expresses your true design effect of elegance, young, but not over the top. It truly states the sweet you in everyday life.
